    Hey Daroma

    • Wrecks
    • Info

The Hey Daroma was a passenger and cargo ship initially known as the Lairds Loch, constructed in Glasgow, Scotland, for Burns & Laird Lines, Ltd.

It provided cross-channel service between Derry, Ireland, and Glasgow, Scotland, for over two decades. In 1969, it was sold to Sefinot Ltd. in Israel and renamed Hey Daroma, operating between Eilat, Israel, and Sharm EL-Sheikh.

However, in September 1970, it struck a reef near Nabq, a few miles north of Sharm EL-Sheikh, and eventually sank in shallow waters. Today, the wreck lies beneath the larger wreck of the Million Hope, offering limited visibility but still presenting an intriguing dive site with marine life and remnants of the ship to explore.
